Hello to all, The year is coming to an end, and we all hope everyone is having or going to have a safe and happy holidays. Thank you to all the customers and friends who have helped us through the year, hopefully many more to come. To start the New year we will have a brand new looking workshop with the floors being painted and a huge cleanout, It will look like a completely different workshop. There are a few projects we have going on in here currently, A 1972 Jag is receiving an Engine and Gearbox from a VE SS, A R32 skyline is being setup for Drag, Drift and Circuit racing which will have a very different engine and Gearbox to any Nissan on the road, But we arent telling anyone just yet.... We are also building a stroked and supercharged Ecotec V6 motor which is set to stir up the V8 crowd, and not to mention the B.E.S.T. work ute that will be meaner than ever, Romoured over 330 KW at tyres aspirated.... I have also planned a year long dyno tournament, there may be a few minor changes but this is a rough idea: | Date | Event | Restrictions | Winners | | January 24th | Old school | Any car built before 1985 | | | February 14th | New School | Any car built after 1985 | | | March 21st | 4 Cylinder shootout | Any 4 cylinder car | | | April 27th | 6 Cylinder shootout | Any 6 cylinder car | | | May 16th | 8 Cylinder shootout | Any 8 cylinder car | | | June 20th | Free For All | Any Car eligible | | | July 18th | Aspirated Anger | Any Naturally Aspirated car | | | August 22nd | Just Jap | Any Japanese built car | | | September 19th | All American | Any American built car | | | October 24th | Bathurst Dyno Day | Holden VS Ford | | | November 21st | Force Fed | Any Forced Induction cars. Inc. NOS | | | December 12th | B.E.S.T. Handicap | Top 2 cars from each month qualify | |
You can enter into one or as many of these dyno days that you want, each day will cost $50 per car, and food and drinks will be available on the day. If anyone would like to enter into these days you can ring Anthony on 32794744, there will be 20 Spots maximum for each day, and believe it or not, some spots are already filling. The top 2 cars from each day will be automatically entered for free into the December Final. |

A big thank you to Lam, Todd, Gretchen, Talena, Craig, Josh, Mindy and all of the participants for all our organising and efforts, they have not gone unnoticed, and of course my Assistant Manager Anthony for the ideas and all the strapping for the day, it went like clockwork. What a day it was, at least 60 cars outside, all with bonnets up, everyone wondering around and socialising, some guys choosing to watch the race, some choosing to see what was happening on the dyno, families wondering around with smiles on their faces, only to be broken up by the sound of an engine roaring, what a way to spend bathurst. The day was a huge success, thank you to brisbane commodore club for choosing us for the day, we are more than happy to do it again for you in future, it was an epic day to remember, some big numbers set on the dyno, and most of all no mechanical failures, as James was keeping an eagle eye on AFR's over the whole day, which ensured every car made it home under its own steam. Everyone was fairly well behaved, and their was full respect between the Holden and Ford boys, all hear to enjoy themselves. We do sadly have to say, that like bathurst, Ford won the day, with an XR6 turbo taking the best torque and most power all to itself. The naturally aspirated 6 cylinder class went to an XR6 BA as well, Ford also grabbed the win for the forced V8 class, with a Supercharged FPV GT-P making 330 odd kilowatts at the tyres, however Holden did get one back, claiming the V8 Aspirated Class, with the first car on the day being the winner with 307 KW in a VE SS. Our next dyno day looks like it will be for the skyline club, on the 22nd of november. We may have to confirm that date at the later time, but thats what early negotiations have come up with, speak to you all soon.......... James |

Hi All, We are doing a brand new concept for a Dyno Day on the 6th of December. Our idea is hopefully going to bridge the gap between 4 and 8 cylinder cars and everything in between. We have 2 contested divisions, Forced induction ie. Turbo, Supercharged or Nitrous, and an aspirated division. We are doing a few simple calculations that are based on the power the car produces at the tyres, divided by the number of cylinders the engine has. For Example: 4 Cylinder car produces 200 Kilowatts, Equates to 50 Kilowatts per cylinder. 6 Cylinder car makes 300 Kilowatts, Equates to 50 Kilowatts per cylinder. 8 Cylinder car makes 400 Kilowatts, Equates to 50 Kilowatts per cylinder. These three cars would end in a tie, and we all know that everyone likes a close Dyno Day. We already have 13 cars booked in, and are putting 20 Cars on the rollers that day. Some of the cars we have coming include Nissan Skylines, a Supercharged Falcon, Turbocharged SSS Pulsar, 2 VY Clubsports, Toyota Aristo's, A Supra and even a Soarer, so there will be plenty of interest in which type of car will win both catagories. Spectating is free, and there will be drinks and a BBQ on the day, Drinks $1 and Sausages on bread $2. Anyone that is wanting to enter should get in quick as spots are filling daily, Entry is only $50. Everyone is welcome to come and have a wander around and im sure the guys and girls would happily have a chat to you about their rides. As this is a Dyno Day like no other we are expecting a bigger crowd than our Bathurst Dyno Day, and are waiting to see some 500+ Horsepower cars hitting the rollers, and we know there will be a few of them. We hope to see you all there. James and the Best Crew. |

Street Torque has come and gone for the year, and there were plenty of positives to take from the weekend. Todd has taken over 1400 photos of the days, and we will endeavour to get them up on the website for you during the week. Lam's turbo pulsar got its best power yet, making 336 horsepower at the front tyres. There was plenty of people coming through and having a good look at the cars, And a big thanks to Sean, Garry, Todd, Rowan, Brad and Lam for donating your cars for the weekend, it was a great sight all setup in the pavillion. Were looking forward to our first in-house dyno day on Sunday, dont be afraid to come down and have a look at the cars and see how much power they make, And im sure the owners would be more than happy to have a chat about what has been done to the car. |
